Group Bird Walk! 5-7pm
We are getting an EARLY START @ 5pm The group will hit the Douglas-Hart trails for a slow, easy-walking birding foray! We hope to see fall migrating warblers, as well as some typical forest and prairie species.
Tyler Wright will present his recent work with Lakeland College and Coles Moultrie Electric Co-op. toward the development of an Avian Protection Plan for the power company.
Tyler has been using data from eBird and the IDNR to develop local maps of species sightings. He has also been mapping densities of sightings, particularly focusing on bald eagles sighted in the Coles Moultrie area. Tyler will be sharing his progress so far, as well as providing insights into the development of the Avian Protection Plan. Everyone with an interest in birds in invited! Be prepared to share your recent sightings and bird-related news or questions.

"As you may know I am the author of Bird Hunting Tales and Tips, a hardbound collection of 33 original short stories about bird hunting, love of dogs and family values. An EIU graduate, class of 1974, and a Taylorville area landowner, I have been fortunate to have had 56 of my short stories published by international magazines such as Pheasants Forever, Quail Forever and Quail Unlimited and others. As a self publisher and self-marketer, I rely on word of mouth referrals, book signings and personal appearances at fundraising banquets etc. for sales."
