There are so many activities to do while at the Douglas-Hart Nature Center. Check out the list below, but be sure to check out our calendar of events and join us for a program!
Bird Viewing Area Enjoy relaxing in the visitor center or library and enjoy watching wildlife through a one way window.
Discovery Den Play Area A large, exploratory area with a bat cave, play tent, loose parts, play items, and exhibits. Please note: The Discovery Den is used as a summer camp room Memorial Day - August 15.
Live Animal Exhibits The visitor center features several live animal exhibits used for educaitonal programs. Many of the animals are on display for viewing.
Library The library features hundreds of books for youth or adults, including educational books for teaching, field guides, and more! Books are available for check out. Search our Library Database.
Backpacks Pick up a backpack to use along the trail! Its full of exploration tools like magnifying glasses, track identifiers, and other activities.
Exhibits The visitor center features a handful of exhibits including a touch table, pollinator display, bird matching game, and more.
Go-Cart The G0-Cart is filled with activities for the trail: bug boxes, bug nets, scavenger hunts, and more!
Feed the Fish Before you head out on the trail, pick up a container of fish food on the Go-Cart to feed our resident fish and turtles.
There are several geocache boxes hidden on our site. Use your GPS to locate the hidden cache boxes.
Tree and Shrub QR Trail Over 30+ trees and shrubs along our trails have signs and QR codes that lead you to an educational page about the tree with fun and historical facts, and more! (Please note: some pages are under construction)
