The native plant sale is Douglas-Hart Nature Center’s largest conservation fundraiser. This year, 28 species of Illinois native wildflowers have been grown from seed in our greenhouse, along with beefmaster tomatoes and sweet basil! The Douglas-Hart Foundation encourages the community to use native plants when landscaping. These plants are adapted to Illinois' climate, rarely need water (once established), and are beneficial to wildlife.
