Birds in Motion by Greg A. Cooper
Traditional bird photography captures birds frozen in time. Although this technique crisply captures their stature, birds in motion capture the hidden beauty of these majestic creatures by using a slower shutter speed. This presentation showcases a portfolio of a work in progress. Techniques and equipment will be discussed, along with ample time for Q&A. This presentation will interest bird photographers as well as the casual birder that appreciates our feathered friends in their natural form. Greg A. Cooper teaches in the Journalism program at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois. Cooper graduated in May 1996 from Western Kentucky University with a double major in photojournalism and anthropology. He's worked as a photojournalist and picture editor in California and Ohio. In 2003 Cooper left the field to pursue his Master's Degree in Photography at Brooks Institute of Photography. Upon graduation in 2004, Cooper has been a full-time photography educator in California and now at EIU. Cooper lives with his wife and their dog in Charleston.
