Local birder and club member Matthew Fain will be presenting on a question many of us may have wondered about: WHY do downy Woodpeckers and hairy Woodpeckers look so much alike? His scientific explanation is sure to be fascinating.
Also, we will have Matt Kneitel as a guest birder. Kneitel is an EIU graduate student who is about to begin a nest predation research project at Douglas-Hart. He will share his research plan and goals in a short presentation.
Don't forget to bring your "recent birds" list and questions for the group!
Looking Ahead:
February 24th: Ervin Hostettler presents on purple martins and martin houses.
March 31st: James Ewing, understanding bird nests.
