A Legacy Gift is a big decision and we appreciate you thinking of the Douglas-Hart Foundation as a possible benefactor to your estate. Below are different options available, but your financial advisor will be able to discuss all of your options AND set everything up for you. Your generous gift will help future generations experience, understand, and appreciate the Douglas-Hart Nature Center, Friendship Garden, and The Whiteside Garden for years to come.
Legacy Gift Options:
Gifts of Monetary Donations
Monetary donations are graciously accepted and directly benefit the Douglas-Hart Nature Center, Friendship Garden, and The Whiteside Garden. These funds are used for educational programs, conservation and habitat improvement, grounds and maintenances, and more. If desired, a donor may designate how those funds are used. If you are making a donation in someone's honor, please include the name and address of that person and they will receive an acknowledgement note or view our memorials page for more information. If you would like to make a monetary donation to the Douglas-Hart Foundation you can use our online donation portal or mail a check to:

Gifts of Bonds
There are two easy ways to use your bonds to support the Douglas-Hart Foundation:
Gifts of Property
A direct gift is the simplest method of donating real estate by transferring the deed or title from the donor to the Douglas-Hart Foundation. The Douglas-Hart Foundation is interested in any type of property but especially farmland AND undeveloped land with trees and grasses. Did you know the Douglas-Hart Foundation operates a 700 acre farm program in Coles County? Taking over farming operations would be a cinch for the Foundation and help offset our operating expenses that run three sites in Coles County. For more information about our farm operations, please contact:
