Douglas-Hart Foundation 2023 Nature Challenge

Winter 2023 Tasks: 
  1. ​Douglas-Hart Nature Center: Find the wood carving that features an owl and a squirrel.
  2. Whiteside Garden: Photograph Snowdrops in bloom.​
  3. Friendship Garden: Take a break in the gazebo.
  4. Anywhere: Find a unique rock!
  5. Anywhere: Photograph frost or an icicle.

​These tasks can be completed any time from January through March. Upload your finished tasks by April 1st to receive your button. Submit by clicking the button below.

Winter Task Submission
What:
This challenge is designed to encourage you to explore the Douglas-Hart Foundation properties and spend more time in nature! You will complete tasks each season to earn a special seasonal button. Collect all 4 buttons and earn a free acorn level membership for 2024!

When:
Tasks will be posted seasonally here and on our Facebook page. Tasks muct be completed within the season they are assigned.

Winter Tasks can be completed January through March and must be turned in by April 1st. 

Where:
Tasks will be spread across all three Douglas-Hart Foundation properties: Douglas-Hart Nature Center and Friendship Garden in Mattoon and Whiteside Garden in Charleston. Tasks must be completed at the location that they are assigned for. Tasks assigned "Anywhere" can be completed anywhere. 

How: 
Simply snap a photo when you complete each task. When you have completed all five tasks, submit by scanning the QR code at the top of the flyer, emailing photos to programs@dhnature.org, or bringing photos to the nature center. Stop by the nature center to claim your button!

Additional Rules: 
Families and couples are welcome to complete the challenge together. Each participating person will receive a button for the season they complete. If all seasonal challenges are completed, only one acorn membership will be awarded per group/family.  ​
