Chair Reupholstering

We have two beautiful chairs at The Whiteside Garden that need reupholstered (and potentially get new padding). We would provide all supplies, we just need someone with the skill to do it. If you are interested please use the button below to email Malina.

Rock and Fossil Organization

Over the years we have accumulated a lot of wonderful rock and fossil donations. Help us organize them into the three main categories (igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic), and identify the rocks and fossils that you can. You do not have to be a geologist for this project, promise. If you are interested, please email the volunteer coordinator using the button below or call 217-235-4644.

Grant Researcher

We are looking for someone to help us add to our grant database that helps us fund the wonderful programs that we do. We have a subscription to a database that we can let you use that would help you in this search. Please note, this is not writing grants, just finding and organizing them for us.

Weighted Blankets and Floor Cushions

Help make a difference in a child's life as they learn about the environment. These volunteer projects are great for someone who sews (and teaching little ones how to sew). To sign up please click the button below or email volunteer@dhnature.org

Conservation Games

These can be used as education tools as well as for our conservation volunteers to play. Games can be memory, trading cards, or any other game that you would like to create! We can also connect you with a template for memory/flash cards if you would like it. If you would like to get involved, please click the link below or email volunteer@dhnature.org.
