Raising Painted Lady Caterpillar Butterflies

Every spring, many children in their classrooms watch and observe caterpillars change and grow into butterflies! Check in everyday to watch the nature center's Painted Lady caterpillars grow!

Day 4 (5/21/2020) - They scared me! I found them all hiding on the top of the lid. Does this mean they are getting close to chrysalis stage?

Below is a Painted Lady Butterfly (Wings open and Wings Closed). When learning to ID butterflies you need to learn what the top wings look like and the underside! Color the butterfly with the same coloration as a real Painted Lady Butterfly. Share your picture with us! Email to: programs@dhnature.org
