The Douglas-Hart Foundation is currently seeking gardens to be showcased during our first annual Garden Walk of Coles County, alongside our properties: The Whiteside Garden and Friendship Garden.

Garden Walk

Saturday, July 8
9am-5pm


Visit various private gardens in Coles County with unique plantings, designs, and features that are sure to grow your love of gardening.

REGISTRATION OPENS MONDAY, MAY 1, 2023

Early Bird Admission: Members: $20, Non-Members: $25
Day Of Admission: $30

  • Light Refreshments

Garden Walk welcome begins at 9am at The Whiteside Garden (Charleston) OR Friendship Garden (Mattoon). Participants must provide own transportation, but we encourage carpooling. Gardens can be visited in any order between 9am-5pm. Garden addresses will be found in the Garden Guidebook; they will NOT be disclosed online or beforehand. We will give recommendations for restrooms stops, but there will be limited-to-no restroom access at gardens.
